Today we're talking about another FinTech unicorn. BlockFi is trying to make financing more accessible and inclusive by using crypto backed assets for small business lending. The SEC isn't so sure how it feels about BlockFi, but female cofounder Flori Marquez says she wants to educate the public on the benefits and risks of an asset class with a chance to close the global wealth gap... so in that goal she might not shy away from a little heat. The context? The SEC isn't sure how or when to apply securities regulations to crypto assets with yields. It's not surprising people love what they've made. Accessible, high yield investments definitely catapult unicorns. We'll be curious to see what happens and happy for the education and clarity.
